Doctor Cyclops

The band - who is and was in it

John the keyboard player will now write this because he wasn't there at the beginning and he knows nothing much about it. Yes we must be professional. Please correct me if you know better!

The band was formed round about mid 1997.

The founder members and all the other members…..

Rachel

The original Drums from one of the founder members.

Sid

Bass and instrumental in finding the first practice room. Subsequently subject to some kind of notice from the environmental health department. (For a noise hazard--not mold and cockroaches--our current room is now too moldy for roaches). Sid left the band in June 2000 to concentrate on his shop, Muse Music in Hebden Bridge.

Dave.M.

Cosmic guitar and mad determination to gather other weird members. Was in a band called Crystal Ridge years ago who's fame spread right across Bury as far as Deeply Vale. Before that Dave was in FC Domestos with Steve B.

Dave.B.

Drums, guitar, vocals. Has a memory of many classic rock tunes . Dave was once a roadie for the Private Dics.

Duncan

Was he almost a fonder member? Duncan is a it of a Paul McCartney look-alike. Plays rhythm guitar and has now traveled to more tuneful lands.

Neil

Neil was the vocalist for a month or two when the band started. He was said to be a little too keen on imitating the late Angus Young,

Blinky Steve

Blinky Steve, ex Free Sandwitches played some slide guitar at the beginning, but the country style turned out to be somewhat incompatible.

John

The keyboard player. Joined after the band had been going a few months. Started making a synth in 1977--never finished it or learnt to play it but now uses it regularly thanks to the Dr Cyclops music therapy technique.

Phil

Sax--from Phil the fluter--came and went.

Ruth

More synth by Dave's sister she played some gigs with us.

Steve.B.

Now Bass also was and occasionally still does rhythm classical and other stuff Steve was in a band called FC Domestos years ago with Dave. Steve also did some work with the Manchester Musicians Collective on an album called (what's its name Steve?).

Tom

Joined as vocalist for a few weeks. His style was sort of Neil Young doing depressed protest song busking. We temporarily disbanded about this time. When we re-formed we had no singer at first.

Kevin

Vocals--Sung for some time with us. A man with a long history and a book of 1000 songs. Once did something for Frankie Goes to Hollywood and other famous folk. Some songs are downbeat-he continues his musical career without us.

Steve.T.

Rythm guitar and sometimes Drums- was in the famous the Shameless Trossachs--joined the band in June 2000.

Those who remain in the band in October 2000 are..
